Skoghus Camping and Rooms
Skoghus – an idyllic camp and accommodation on Senja
Skoghus is beautifully located on Senja, just 4 kilometers from the Gisund Bridge in Silsand. With views over the Gisundet strait and the surrounding nature — plus our own shoreline — this is a peaceful place to unwind. On sunny days you can swim, fish, or simply sit back and enjoy the midnight sun. Our grill hut sits perfectly on the headland, ideal for cozy evenings outdoors.
If you’re traveling with children, Skoghus is a great choice. There’s plenty of space for both play and relaxation.
Rooms
Skoghus offers 20 rooms with a total of 56 beds. Choose between single rooms and family rooms accommodating up to five people. All rooms are located on the ground floor, and all except one have a private bathroom.
Villmarkstua, our charming common lounge, gives you that classic cabin atmosphere. Guests also have access to shared kitchens where you can prepare your own meals. When the weather is good, dinner can be enjoyed outside at one of our grills. Breakfast can be ordered for an additional fee.
Camping
If you arrive with a tent, caravan, or motorhome, we offer eight parking spaces for caravans and a large grassy area for tents. You’ll have access to sanitary facilities, guest kitchens, and the fireplace lounge in Villmarkstua. A washing machine and dryer are available for a small fee.
Please note that we do not have a waste disposal station for motorhomes.

Skoghus is owned and operated by the Norwegian Lutheran Mission. Our new service building features beautiful panoramic views of the Gisundet strait and is well suited for events, courses, and conferences in addition to our traditional camp activities.
Groups can request offers for breakfast or full board.
