The journey begins in Tromsø with a whale safari to the fjords around Skjervøy, before continuing on to Basecamp Senja – your home for the next four nights. You’ll stay comfortably at Basecamp Senja, guided by experienced hosts who take you to some of the region’s most spectacular fjords, viewpoints and winter landscapes. This is a journey for travellers seeking time, calm and grand Arctic moments in one of Norway’s most breathtaking regions.
Your guides will bring you along Scenic Route Senja, an exotic wildlife RIB tour in Bergsfjorden, a delicious New Year’s dinner with bonfire by the fjord, and a full day of dog sledding.
On departure day, the trip continues to Finnsnes for onward travel with Hurtigruten or Havila back to Tromsø.
Throughout your stay you’ll enjoy three meals a day, talks and storytelling, transport, warm expedition suits for activities, and close follow‑up from knowledgeable local guides. This is an expedition for those who want to begin the year with something truly extraordinary.
