Finnsnes Feriesenter is an excellent base for exploring the natural surroundings of Finnfjord, Central Troms, as well as the Senja region. In the popular Finnfjordmarka recreational area, you will find a varied network of illuminated trails, cross-country ski tracks, and easy hiking paths suitable for both families and outdoor enthusiasts. During winter, the area is particularly popular, with groomed ski trails starting close to the resort.
For adventurous hikers, several spectacular mountain peaks are within easy reach. Kistefjellet (1,033 m) and Sultinden (1,026 m) offer more demanding hikes rewarded with beautiful views across the region. Senja Municipality's highest mountain, Vassbruntinden, rises to 1,204 metres and offers breathtaking panoramic views over large parts of the area. Easier but equally rewarding hikes include Varden, Rismålstuva, and Aglapen.
If you prefer a day by the sea, the beaches at Sørvika and Aglapsvika offer soft sand between your toes and refreshing Arctic waters.
