Camp Steinfjord is a unique place with roots dating back to the early 1900s, when the site first served as a fish reception facility. In recent years, the old station has been carefully transformed into a charming hotel, restaurant, and activity center, a place where tradition meets modern comfort.
With its stunning location on the northwestern side of Senja, Camp Steinfjord is the perfect starting point for exploring the island’s most spectacular sights. Just a stone’s throw away you’ll find Tungeneset, Okshornan, Ersfjord Beach, and Husfjellet.
Adventure awaits here all year round! Whether you want to fish for big game species, go on a fjord safari, join a Northern Lights tour, or try your hand at ice fishing, you’ve come to the right place. No matter the season, there are activities for both young and old. Want to explore on your own or book a guided trip? Our facilities are ready for both. We offer 13 aluminum boats, minibuses, a fully stocked sport fishing shop, sauna and hot tub, plus a campsite with room for both tents and camper vans. Everything you could possibly need for your adventures on land and at sea.
You are always welcome. If you’re looking for a more exclusive stay, we offer deluxe apartments, while those who prefer something simpler will find affordable options as well.
At the heart of our camp is the restaurant, with a menu inspired by the sea and local specialties. We serve both daily specials and à la carte dishes. Our outdoor deck and bright dining room both offer spectacular views where mountains meet the horizon. In summer you can enjoy the midnight sun, and in winter, the northern lights dancing across the sky.
